Heterocyclic Chemistry - Total Synthesis of Alkaloids
Alkaloids contribute to an important class of natural products in organic chemistry. We have been working on synthesis of various
bioactive alkaloids in a concise route using new/novel methodologies. Our research group have reported the first total synthesis of
alkaloids (±)-Oxoaplysinopsin B, 7-Bromo-1-(6-bromo-1H-indol-3-yl)-9H-carbazole, Pseudellone C, Mansouramycin D,
Penicinoline E, Metagenetriindole C, Sannanine and Arsindoline A & B and synthetic methodology for Calothrixin A & B, Cruciferane,
Ellipticine, Actinophenanthroline A, Metatacarbolines, Lavendamycin, Eudistomin U, Scalaridine A and Bouchardatine.
Our current interest is metal-free methodologies for synthesis of alkaloids.
