Raja K. Rit was born in Howrah, West Bengal, a state in eastern India. In 2009, after completion of BSc. & MSc. degree in chemistry from Calcutta University, Kolkata, he moved to Nizam´s city in the southern India to pursue his doctoral research with Prof. Akhila K. Sahoo at the School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad. He obtained his PhD in April, 2015, working on the field of C–H activation. Then he moved to Germany for post-doctoral research, working with Prof. Lukas J. Goossen on electro-organic synthesis.
