About me:
Born
(1975) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Educated from 1st Std
to 7th in Nagapattinam (formerly Tanjore
district), Tamil Nadu and 8th Std to Ph. D. in Chennai. Inspired by
Chemistry teacher, Mrs. Lizy Androse in 12th Std
(I stood School first in Chemistry, scored marks 185/200), I chose Chemistry as
major in B.Sc. at Presidency College, Chennai and passion for Organic Chemistry
started in Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Madras. Inspired by
M. Sc. teacher, Prof. P. C. Srinivasan (worked with Prof.
R. J. Sundberg, Virginia University (famous book in
Organic Chemistry; Carey and Sundberg), I liked the Chemistry of Indole
and continue to work on indoles. I am greatful to my Ph. D. supervisor, Dr. P. T. Perumal who introduced me research in Heterocyclic
Chemistry and his encouragement for me to go abroad and also to take up the
position in UoH. I started my career in Heterocyclic
Chemistry and currently working on total synthesis of bioactive alkaloids.
