Debasis Satpathy was born in Jajpur Town, located in the Jajpur district of Odisha. In 2021, He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Chemistry from Fakir Mohan (Autonomous) College, Balasore. He subsequently completed his Master of Science in Chemistry in 2024 from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Telangana. In January 2025, he joined the research group of Prof. Akhila K. Sahoo at the University of Hyderabad as a Project Associate. He is currently engaged in research focused on the difunctionalization of alkynes.
